How it works

Use your Pocket Universe account first so web and extension stay on the same library.

2. Install for your browser

Pick the browser below and follow the short beta setup path for that one browser.

3. Save into one inbox

Save the current page, add tags or a collection, and open the saved item back in the app.

Before testing

Make sure you are signed in on the same Pocket Universe web app first, then sign in inside the extension popup with that same account and app base URL.

Setup steps

Install paths for each supported browser.

Chrome / Edge / Brave

Unpacked beta
  1. Open the browser extensions page.
  2. Turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked.
  4. Select `extension/dist/chromium`.
  5. Check the Connection URL in the popup if your app is not on the default local port.
  6. Reload the extension after local changes.

Firefox

Local beta
  1. Open `about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox`.
  2. Choose Load Temporary Add-on.
  3. Select `extension/dist/firefox/manifest.json`.
  4. Check the Connection URL in the popup if your app runs on another local or public URL.
  5. Open the popup and sign in with the same account.
  6. Reload the add-on after local popup changes.

Safari

Manual setup
  1. Open the Xcode project in `extension/safari`.
  2. Run the Pocket Universe host app from Xcode.
  3. Open Safari Settings and enable the Pocket Universe extension.
  4. Set the Connection URL in the popup to your local or production web app.
  5. Pin the extension if you want faster access.
  6. Rerun from Xcode after Safari wrapper changes.
